Mobility Performance Metrics

For Integrated Mobility

and Beyond

Project Updates and Testing Portal

Project Overview

In 2020, TRI published a report, Mobility Performance Metrics (MPM) for Integrated Mobility and Beyond, which presents a set of traveler-centric mobility performance metrics. The metrics were developed as supplemental measures to assess system performance in three key areas:

  • Meeting the needs of individual travelers
  • Meeting overall demand
  • Making local and national impact.

This report identifies over 60 potential metrics that align with FTA’s and TRI’s goals and presents a comprehensive evaluation and prioritization strategy of the metrics that identifies a list of prioritized metrics to be tested.

Study Journey

Research

Literature reviews and other research was conducted to evaluate current measurement practices and to identify gaps and challenges.

Development

Using results from the research phase, the team worked to develop performance metrics to test the functionality and performance of the modes.

Testing

The next phase of the project focuses on developing a roadmap to test the efficacy of the metrics. Testing will be done with partnering agencies across the country.
